Stan James also acquired BetDirect sportsbook, casino and poker business from 32Red in September 2007 for $11.5 million. 32Red had previously acquired BetDirect from Sportech in 2006 for $25 million. In October 2010 StanJames signed a five-year title sponsorship deal with England’s Cheltenham Racecourse for its Champion Hurdle event in March in addition to a trio of similar two-mile hurdle races. The deal was rumoured to be worth £450,000 per year.
